Intimate Backyard Wedding // Catherine + Tomas // Port Angeles, WA // Strait of Juan de Fuca Bluff

I am so excited to be sharing these photos with you!! Catherine and Tomas put together the most gorgeous backyard wedding on the bluff in Port Angeles, WA overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca this past September. I mean seriously the most spectacular view for a wedding backdrop. Catherine and Tomas wanted their wedding day to be more casual and wanted it to focus on having fun, enjoying their day, and celebrating with their very close friends and family.

Catherine spent the afternoon of her wedding day beside her mom in a beautiful custom built home of her Uncle’s that sits right on the bluff. I loved that they were able to take this time together just the two of them to get Catherine ready. Catherine wore such a simple, and elegant dress that she looked absolutely stunning in. A couple details that stood out was her gorgeous pearl vail and her glass ring that she got in Italy. I love how simple and classy all the details were. After she was finished getting ready, we did a first look with all her girl friends that were in attendance.

One of my favorite parts of the day was when one of Catherine and Tomas’s closest friends decided to do a first look with the groom before Catherine’s first look. He dressed up as a bride and surprised Tomas. Tomas was under the impression that this first look was going to be with Catherine. The amount of laughter that exploded during this first look was the best!!

Catherine and Tomas’s ceremony was under a beautiful gazebo that was right on the edge of the property overlooking the straits. They were surrounded by about 60 of their closest family and friends. Once they officially tied the knot and walked down the aisle, they were enveloped in so much love and hugs from their guests. It was so joyful to witness!

Before the sun went down and the partying got started I stole Catherine and Tomas away to explore the property a little more for their bridal portraits. These two were absolutely adorable together! Every inch of this family property had a beautiful backdrop.

After everyone sat down for dinner we moved into toasts for the happy couple. The toasts that the Best Man and Maid of Honor spoke where some of the best ones I have heard! The amount of laughter and jokes was unforgettable. As the sun set the beauty of this venue only got better and better. Catherine and Tomas cut into their gorgeous cake and made their way on the dance floor. The energy on the dance floor was incredible, one big party! These two had SO much fun with their guests, singing and dancing all night long.

Catherine and Tomas envisioned their day as a late summer themed party with good food, drinks and a relaxed, playful, and loving vibe and it was everything and more. I had so much fun capturing their love story. This wedding was truly one of my favorites, and I am so grateful that I was there to be a part of it!
